Cuckoo Society — Our Motivations and Values
What made us start this journey, aiming for the long run
NFTs have disrupted the way we interact with digital art. More than just providing immutable storage for JPEGs, the blockchain ecosystem has taken upon how art is perceived and the utility behind it.
It is now possible to create assets that yield value through different mechanisms, such as royalty distribution, holding/trading or even governance tokens in a powerful DAO.
We felt in love with this world of digital collectibles a few months ago and wanted to jump into it with our own story. But we wanted to have a true purpose behind the project and we always aimed for an extensible, meaningful, and relatable story of our own.
The motivations that started it all
The global pandemic that we have been experiencing for almost 2 years now, as well as the associated sanitary measures, have put the mental health of millions of people around the world to the test.
Cut off from all contact with other human beings, the character whose story we follow goes mad in order to escape his solitude. Without passing judgment on social relationships, we seek, through this project and this dystopian vision of our future, to show the importance of social interactions for the moral and mental balance of individuals.
How do we plan to have an impact
We will make our story and vision available to the community through an initial collection of NFTs that will be available to purchase on the Solana blockchain, from our main website. The discussion on why we chose Solana is already described on our FAQ but we will cover it in another series of articles on our Medium account.
This act will be the first in a long series of chapters that we are defining via a roadmap, a common term in the NFT community. For each chapter, we have one dedicated roadmap with a unique theme, following the story of our main character, and specific activations that will provide value to our community and move things forward in the scene we are in.
What we will do to move things forward
First of all, we want our project to be accessible to all people. We want everybody to have the same chance to get a rare item.
Second, we plan to donate 88 SOL of the main sale’s earnings to charities de against the isolation of vulnerable people. And at last but not least, we want people to have as much FUN as we had to create this universe and project.
